This product is awesome. Keeps our workshop had a wonderful temperature. We live in Texas and right now it’s 98° inside our workshop. It’s 73 wonderful.

Not for seasonal use. Best for permanent installation.

The reviews on this are accurate, it's a very nice machine, but:I didn't want to screw a bunch of holes in my wood sills, so I built a faux sill to mount this.The steel mounting bracket could not be adjusted to sit against single course of shingles so I has to improvise another wood gap filler and screw the bracket to the exterior wall. This will be down to luck. Unless you want a bunch of screw holes to look at all winter, consider this a permanent install.The insulation is cut to size for whatever window you use, so unless all your windows are the same size, choose your window wisely.The remote is IR, so the communication is one way. This means that if you change a setting on the panel the remote will be out of sync and you will probably have to adjust for that. The phone app is much better in this regard.My 12,000 BTU version is powerful and pretty quiet. The inverter tech and efficiency can be irritating when you just want to get the thing to blow cold air at max fan, but it's a small gripe and you can fiddle with settings till it does what you want.I have had great luck with Midea products and this appears to be well made.At max cool (max I could set it to) it draws 8 amps.If you want a seasonal or backup window unit, get a conventional design or maybe a saddle type. If you want an alternative to a mini-split, this would be a great choice.Last minor gripe: there is no easy way to grip the unit when you pull it out of the box. don't cut your fingers on the radiator in the back. Only a fool would do that and I have it on good authority that it's surprisingly painful.

Better than expected!

Brilliant concept, compact design, and very quiet!

Works well with some modification

Effective and not too noisy. Requires a bit more foam to get a good seal on our double hung wooden windows than they supply so you're probably going to want that. They say you can open the window but not really unless you get another lock since unscrewing the lock every time isn't practical. And there's no way to keep your screen. My biggest complaint is there are no drain holes in the bottom. Consider drilling some yourself in the front corners being careful not to hit the coolant tubes, else you'll collect a pool in the bottom of the unit that will eventually overflow and drip on the outer sill. The water appears to have caused a bit of corrosion after just one season so I wish I'd drilled the drains immediately.

This is an amazing product- so quiet no vibration!

This is a breakthrough for a window unit in my opinion. No compressors clunking on and off thru the night, this one is unbelievably quiet as the compressor seems very smooth, maybe even modulates when it does not have to work hard. The app is fantastic, you can program the death out of it, alter the temp through the night, but the best feature is that the fan is on a slider so you can go down to 6% fan -- its barely audible. Game changer.
